Award-Winning, Net-Zero-Energy Homes Coming to ITB Raleigh
Raleigh, NC – Chappell [Powered by Compass], in cooperation with REdesign.build and Southern Energy Management NC, is thrilled to announce one of the first net-zero-energy, modern home collections coming to Raleigh. Tower, located at 920 Tower Street, combines award-winning modernist design with the evolved principles of eco-friendly construction.
Construction is well underway, and the homes are expected to be delivered in spring 2024. Presales have already begun, with one of three homes in the boutique community already claimed.
Tower made headlines before hitting the Triangle market, being featured in the Wall Street Journal in 2021 and awarded the coveted Matsumoto Prize in 2020 by NC Modernist. While the modernist architecture of the single-family dwellings is notable by itself, its high-performance systems set the collection apart.
We are committed to cultivating climate-conscious housing opportunities throughout the Triangle. Tower may be one of the first Net-Zero-Energy developments on the market today, but we’re proud to say it won’t be the last.”
– Johnny Chappell, Owner/Broker Chappell
Annually, Tower homes can generate as much renewable energy as they consume, if not more – virtually erasing a homebuyer’s carbon footprint. Climate-conscious materials & cutting-edge tech – TESLA Powerwall, Loxone Home Automation, EV-capable, solar panels – are pivotal to NZE performance.
The homes use natural, non-petroleum-based, non-plastic, and no VOC materials wherever possible to provide homebuyers with a healthier home atmosphere. Homeowners will also be eligible for a ~$12,000 solar tax credit.
Meet the Experts Behind Tower
“When we started the journey of Tower, we sought to take our years of experience as designers and builders of high-quality buildings and combine that with our own values around sustainability, environmental stewardship, and energy efficiency to make a place that represents all of those things together,” said Will Alphin, Tower Designer, GC & Founder of REdesign.build. “There is absolutely nothing like Tower on the market in the state of NC, probably the Southeast. High-quality, modern homes that are built to be beautiful, filled with daylight, safe, clean, and net positive. I loved them so much I moved into one!”
One thoughtfully-crafted plan boasts 3.5+ bedrooms, 3.5 baths, ample flex space and a fully-finished basement in 4,000+ sqft. The basement offers buyers customizable flexibility, with two different upgradable layouts to select from. Whether the priority is hybrid WFH or studio space or creating passive income through a rentable living suite, Tower’s plan opens buyers’ options.
“Tower is unlike any other modern home collection on the Triangle market, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Will Alphin and the REdesign.build team to expand on the original Matsumoto-award-winning plan,” said Johnny Chappell, Owner and Broker of Chappell. “The collection’s revolutionary high impact, low imprint approach is not only an architectural and environmental achievement; it’s the new standard for modernist builds across the board. We are committed to cultivating climate-conscious housing opportunities that meet this standard throughout the Triangle. Tower may be one of the first Net-Zero-Energy developments on the market today, but we’re proud to say it will not be the last.”
Other Triangle Developments
In addition to Tower, Chappell is bringing several other Triangle developments to market, including IDYLE, another Net-Zero-Ready 10 townhome collection coming to Downtown Raleigh. In the Lake Johnson area, Chappell and its development partners have launched 26 duet-style homes at Wrenwood, with the first offerings expected to be completed later this year. Also, the team is currently delivering Lyon, a collection of duet-style, modern homes Inside The Beltline Raleigh. The companies are also collaborating on Oberlin Heights, 11 luxury townhomes coming to the Village District area, and Forest on Franklin, a collection of craftsman-style townhomes in Downtown Wake Forest.
Chappell [Powered by Compass] is the real estate broker for Tower. REdesign.build is handling the development, architecture, and construction. Southern Energy Management NC is validating the development’s NZE capabilities, while Mann, McGibney & Jordan, PLLC, is the preferred attorney.
