Urban, Contemporary Condos Coming to Cameron Village
The Stephenson is an urban, contemporary condominium community developed by Lock7 Development of Washington, DC, expected to start construction in 2020.
Chappell Residential is excited to announce a new condominium community conveniently located only steps from Cameron Village Shopping Center. With 20 units available and multiple bedroom plans to choose from, The Stephenson boasts flexible and functional living in one of Raleigh’s most sought-after areas. Sales efforts are underway. Construction is expected to begin in 2020.
While there are multiple designs and layouts, residents can select from stylish finishes and high-end features that create a high-efficiency, turn-key condo. With flex spaces and private balconies available in select residences, The Stephenson prioritizes fun and fresh aesthetics delivered through thoughtful and functional design. Each resident also has access to an expansive rooftop terrace equipped with an outdoor kitchen, gas grills, fire pit and lounge seating. Private parking is also included, plus bicycle and additional storage space on the ground level.
“The Stephenson is an exciting project to us because the location is the perfect mix between a quiet residential neighborhood, but literally a block away from shopping and dining. You really get the best of both worlds.”
Chappell Residential is the real estate broker for The Stephenson. The property is being developed by Lock7 Development of Washington, DC, and New City Design Group of Raleigh completed the architecture. For more information on The Stephenson, visit LiveTheStephenson.com or contact 919.670.0022.
With layouts that range from a 639 square-foot, one-bedroom option to a 1,314 square-foot, three-bedroom option, these condos offer residents their choice of design with unparalleled convenience and connectivity built-in.
“The Stephenson is an exciting project to us because the location is the perfect mix between a quiet residential neighborhood, but literally a block away from shopping and dining. You really get the best of both worlds,” says Dave Gorman, Principal of Lock7 Development. “Additionally, the site has windows on all four sides, which is rare for infill development. I’m thrilled we were able to incorporate so many opportunities to get outside – both through balconies and a huge communal roof deck.”
“We are incredibly excited to work with Lock7 and New City Design Group to bring The Stephenson to Cameron Village,” said Johnny Chappell, Owner/Broker of Chappell Residential. “In a few words? Modern, plus classic. With the name, we pay homage to Stephenson Music Company, a beloved record store for artists and amateurs alike that had once called Cameron Village home. We hope to invoke a similar sense of energy and excitement in each of the homes in this modern condominium community.”
The Stephenson name has had a fond presence in Raleigh history since 1907. (We explore the history behind the name in depth over at our most recent blog post!) What began as a Downtown variety store specializing in musical instruments, became a hub for music and community throughout the 20th century. Like many businesses, Stephenson Music Company relocated to the suburbs of the newly established Cameron Village in the mid-1950s. The store remained in Cameron Village until the late 1960s, before moving back Downtown.
