The dual-locale development, created in partnership with Concept 8, is an early success and epitomizes the demand for multi-residential communities in Downtown Raleigh. After the Gregg Street offerings sold out in under four months, it was clear that turn-key townhomes in this locale were popular with buyers coming to the metropolitan area.

The Cumberland townhomes are the second half of the development planned by Chappell [Powered by Compass] in collaboration with Concept 8. The first Gregg Street homes are on schedule to deliver in 2022, with the Cumberland offerings following. With all of the townhomes at the Gregg Street locale under contract, the Cumberland & Gregg development is officially 50% pre-sold.

The community features eight modern townhomes distributed between two separate Downtown Raleigh locales: 1025 Gregg Street and 628 Cumberland Street. Each site boasts easy access to the urban excitement of Downtown Raleigh and public greenspace at recently renovated John Chavis, Memorial Park.

While the locale was a considerable differentiator thanks to its accessibility to shopping, dining, and daily necessities Downtown, the seamless, open-concept layouts and modern styling attracted original buyers quickly. A trend that Chappell hopes to continue with this second locale.


August 2021 // Cumberland & Gregg Launches + Presale Begins for Gregg Street. 

September 2021 // Gregg Street crews laid the foundation for preliminary framing. 

October 2021 // Construction at Gregg Street goes vertical, and these townhomes begin to take shape.

November 2021 // Gregg Street sells out; construction continues on-site with final homes deliverable in 2022.

January 2022 // The final Cumberland & Gregg offerings are made available on Cumberland Street.
